"Another type of building is emerging: one that actually heals the scars of its own construction. It conserves rainwater and fuel and it provides a habitat for creatures other than the human one. Maybe it will catch on, maybe it won't. We'll see." - Malcolm Wells, 2002.

http://www.wildearth.com.au/buy/back-country-flameless-heater-pack-for-food/bc634 There are times when a hot meal is needed but there is no fire to cook with. This could be because of fire bans or bad weather, during emergencies or perhaps you or your group want to be prepared – Just in case. 20 minutes, a hot nutritious meal, no cooking necessary. The pack consists of an outer foil cooking pouch and 2 inner plastic heat pads containing sachets of reactants. Add water to a freeze dried meal pouch to reconstitute it and then put it into the foil cooking pouch. Add water to the inner heat pads to initiate the reaction. The sachets in the heat pads contain mixed powdered magnesium, powdered iron and salt. When water is added to the heat bags the salt forms an electrolyte solution, the iron acts as an anode, the magnesium acts as a cathode, and the magnesium oxidises at an increased rate giving off strong heat. The product will not generate flame or sufficient heat to cause ignition. ~$6 each http://www.wildearth.com.au/shop/tents/4-season-mountain-tents/1806 - good tents-3 Man Hiking Tent $239.50 - cheaper stove$54 than BCF and better tarps, filtered water bottle $35 http://www.legear.com.au/shop/outdoor-survival/shelters-apparels/127004 -$84 cold sleeping bag looks good-sleepmats$59-blow up pillow $25 http://www.outdoorsdomain.com.au/20-piece-stainless-steel-camp-kitchen-set/ $40 http://www.outdoorsdomain.com.au/roman-tracker-4vd-tent/ $219.95 so tent $250 + Stove $50 + F/water bottle $35 + $100 sleeping bag + $40 kitchen set = $475 reasonable setup |
